FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team | Bothell, WA

Team Ov3rclock is a competitive youth robotics team for students entering grades 6–10 (Fall 2026). We design, build, and program competition robots for the global FIRST Tech Challenge league.

Note: This is not a casual club or tutoring program. We operate like a professional team: consistent, collaborative, and hands-on.

βš™οΈ What Students Do

  • Build a 30-lb competition robot from scratch.
  • Program autonomous and driver-controlled modes.
  • Utilize real engineering tools and methods.
  • Collaborate as a team under real deadlines.
  • Compete at official tournaments.

Kids don’t watch. Kids build.


⏱️ Why We Start Early

Most teams begin in September. We start months earlier to develop real skills, confidence, and teamwork before the competition season hits. This gives our students a major competitive advantage.


πŸ‘₯ Who Should Apply

We are looking for students who:

  • βœ” Enjoy building, coding, or problem-solving.
  • βœ” Are curious and self-motivated.
  • βœ” Can commit consistently.
  • βœ” Want real engineering experience.

No prior experience is required; interest and effort are the primary requirements.


❌ Not a "Drop-Off" Program

This is not tutoring or babysitting.

  • Students must have a genuine desire to participate.
  • Parents are expected to support the team in some capacity.

πŸ† What Students Gain

  • Programming: Java-based coding.
  • Engineering: Mechanical fundamentals and electronics/sensors.
  • Design: CAD and design thinking.
  • Soft Skills: Leadership, teamwork, and high-stakes competition experience.

πŸ“… Practice Schedule

Starting March:

  • 1 weekday evening session
  • 1 weekend session

Note: Attendance and consistency are expected for team success.


πŸ’° Cost

Robotics operates similarly to a competitive team sport.

  • possible travel and please support your student as needed.
  • Structure: Costs are shared across families; fundraising helps offset expenses.

We are a volunteer-driven team. Parents contribute in areas such as:

  • Mentoring & Logistics
  • Fundraising & Event Support
  • General Coordination
